When was the last time you did something for the first time?

So often, we take the same route to work. Meet with the same group of people. Order from the same restaurants the same meals.

While the familiar feels safe, going out of the comfort zone is where we’re reaching the growth zone. New experiences and challenges stimulate the brain, produce dopamine, and build our self-confidence in our problem-solving capabilities.

Volunteering helps you learn new things.

It doesn’t matter what you do for a living - when you’re volunteering, you are somebody’s superhero! You can find yourself finding new ways to raise money, build a house, learn a new language, or gain valuable hands-on work experience (sometimes even qualifications!). It’s both fun and meaningful to learn new skills or build upon the skills you already have and use them to benefit your community.
